The biggest announcement was from Disney, which literally announced 10 Star Wars series, 10 Marvel series, and 30 more series and films to be released on its platform.
By 2024, Disney is expected to allocate $14-16B a year on content
This is within the ballpark of the $17B outlay Netflix made in 2020.
In fact, the sudden rise of Disney+ makes it the sole genuine competitor to The King of streaming service Netflix.
Disney is estimated to own 260million subscribers by 2024, which could put it on the right track to eventually overtake Netflix, which currently has 195million active users (not including the 8 college friends you share your account with).
